The last time we came all you can see in the picture above was white! A very different look now but it looks more like what it is, a volcano. The ski resort is becoming bigger and bigger, and they have just finished a brand new cafe at the top. There was a little snow left and Tom was determined to touch some. The trip on the ski lift is spectacular and very relaxing as you float your way down. Being in this terrain triggered the boys' imagination and we had to answer a lot of questions! The volcano next to Ruapheu is the one they used for Mount Doom in LOTR. We are all very excited here as they are about to start filming 'The Hobbit' next month. Oli was particularly apprehensive about visiting a volcano and Alex was a little nervous when he saw the picture of its last eruption. Great picture to have in the shop, eh!?
