Christmas Eve 2011
After a long tiring day skiing on the mountain we chilled out watching Elf the movie, which is hilarious - a Bailey Christmas favourite. Unfortunately Tom wasn't feeling too good so it was only me, Alex and Oli who ventured back outside. We spent some time in the play area and then walked around the shops and lights. We finished off by having a hot chocolate with whipped cream and a cookie. We headed back so we could hang up our stinky skiing socks for Santa to fill! Merry Christmas everyone.
First day of skiing...or falling over a lot!
We knew it was going to be good as it was snowing slightly as we made our way to the gondola at the base of the mountain. It was incredible further up the mountain, so much so that Tom was knee deep at one point. Not the easiest conditions to ski although we all enjoyed falling into the snow, lots. One slight wrong turn took us off the beaten track for nearly hour was interesting but once we were back to top it was awesome including another Nintendo zone for the boys to recharge in.

Whistler 2
Whistler was a host for most of the winter Olympics in 2010 and there are many things left in memory of an amazing event. However we simply loved the lights!
Whistler
After collecting our skiing gear we relaxed in our lodge watching Christmas cartoons and kept warm by the fire. Later on Alex and I checked out the beautiful lights, and we thought Vancouver was good! As we walked out the lodge we came across a play area which looked great and then found a fire to warm ourselves up.
Vancouver to Whistler
After frantically packing everything back into our cases we squeezed in one more walk through the city as we prepared ourselves for a two and half hour coach journey into the mountains. In fact the DS's did the trick so Fran and I could enjoy the amazing views although they were slightly less spectacular with low level cloud.

Final Trip of Vancouver 2
The boys were not too impressed by the time we reached Stanley Park and we really had to drag them into the forest to find a train. To our surprise there was a Christmas light display and it was busy! Interestingly two minutes before all the lights it was pitch black! We were amazed to think how safe we felt walking through a city forest at night. The boys were overjoyed with the lights, soft pretzels and wild raccoon!
Final Trip of Vancouver
As it was our last night in Vancouver we wanted to do our favourite walk again. Although we had a long day at the mall we dragged the boys through it. Initially they enjoyed it as they ran around playing tag but 45 mins later...
