Day 5 - The final day Skiing

Alex and Jackson received a booklet recording their progress at Skiing. They were also given a meal and a few other freebies. They both gained a lot from the week and made great progress. I was very proud of Alex.
To let off a little steam after skiing we went to Kids republic. This is a indoor play area which is very new and cool.
Tom and Will (Jackson's Brother) were very happy to hide in the house for some time ...
Oliver was keen to take on the local kids racing around in his car! Nothing new there then.

The bathroom is going (Day 1).....Yippee

Finally we are having our bathroom replaced. This is how it looks now. Not too bad you may think. Vile in the flesh though.

Shower with beautiful smoked glass.

Floor which will be beautiful.....

And .... How they did today! Loving the Kiwi workmanship!

A trip to the Auckland Museum-Kai to Pie

So with Alex skiing we went to the museum with a friend from cricket Harrison. We all love the museum as they always have a something new to discover.

The boys milking a cow!

This season Kai (native word for food) to Pie (Kiwis love pies!) exhibition didn't let us down. This area had a variety of kitchen inventions which have changed over the years.

Oliver is listening to an inventor explaining his story. He actually sat still for over 3 minutes!

Snowplanet Day 1

As Daddy is away in Guernsey, I am in charge..... apparently. So here is our holiday so far.
Alex has spent the first 3 days of our 2 week break laying around with a temperature and sore throat.
Poor Alex but Mummy had signed him up for a week of Skiing.

Here he is ready for action, it's on Monday. Oliver and Tom will do this in a few months as Alex deserved a head start.

Alex the star!

Alex has had a fantastic year. He is much more relaxed and confident. His reading ability has gone off the scale, the last 'probe'(why do they use such controversial names!) test he came out as 14 year old!! They have to pass tests with their reading at home and gains points depending on the difficulty of the book. Alex has the highest score in the whole school! He received a certificate and 'The Fellowship of the Ring' as his prize, as you do. I was still reading books with lift up flaps at his age!
Alex also received a principals award for 'his positive and enthusiastic attitude towards school life'. He has always been popular with teachers as he is such a social and chatty person. Where does he get that from?

Torpedo

We have found a car boot sale! Tom was particularly pleased as he found a penguin called 'Torpedo' who now goes everywhere with him. It's quite worrying! Torpedo had a lovely day going down slides and being thrown over tunnels etc. It was a beautiful day but it is getting colder now.
