Sunday afternoon in Albany

We had a great day in Albany today. The weather was more sunny than rainy which is a bonus at the moment so we sneaked a walk in around the lake. We had dinner out, thanks McD, and popped into Borders (book shop) so Alex could have a free read whilst Mummy and Daddy relaxed with a coffee. We finished our day at the cinema with 'Despicable Me' which was great and the boys loved the little yellow things, children are going to really love it.

2nd walk around Muriwai

On our second day at Muriwai were keen to go for another walk as the first one was so beautiful. The weather was a little hit and miss but it was worth it. We were on the hunt for wood as we all loved the open fire the night before, Tom was a particularly good gatherer! We ended our walk at the lovely cafe called Sand Dunz. Whilst we were there Alex wanted to demonstrate his photographic skills on wildlife, pretty good!

The Boys (off my phone)

Collected a few photos on my camera over the last few months. Some are from our break recently and a walk to Browns Bay. Even in a short time the boys seemed to have changed a lot. Oli seems to have grown the most and looks like a 'real' boy now but Tom still looks and acts like a toddler although he has the tantrums of a teenager. So much to look forward to.

The beach

The beach was amazing. It was so vast and the waves were mesmerizing so much so that Alex had to get so close he got swamped, twice. The great thing about walking on the beach is that the boys hardly moan compared to a normal walk.

Play area by the beach

Oliver was overcome by excitement when he saw the playarea. In fact, he made us go about 5 times whilst we were there! Fortunately the weather was good although it did shower a couple of times to Ollie's disgust which meant we had to leave early once. The boys get on so well now that mummy and daddy can leave them to it and we can have a coffee. Great.

The Batch

For the first couple of hours the boys ran around the batch and played various games with their mighty beanz. They found the DVD selection and spotted the film for the evening, Spiderman 2. The views from the batch were magnificent and daddy claimed the biggest room at the top as the boys were attempting to make it theirs! Tom was upset because his room did not have a blow up chair like Alex and he moaned that his bed belonged to someone else and he could not get to sleep. What can you do!?

Muriwai

One of the things we have always wanted to do since we arrived in NZ was pack our car and go away for a weekend. We finally did it, yippee! We headed out to Muriwai beach which is not far from Piha on the west coast of Auckland. The boys were given a small present each to take away to add to the excitement as they are obsessed with mighty beanz. They literally disappear for hours with a new pack of six. Initial impressions of the batch were excellent, big and had an awesome open fire. Our first view of the beach blew us away, it was so impressive that even the boys said it looked like a special effect as there were so many huge waves.
