Charlie the Chipmunk, final runaround and home to presents

When Charlie arrived he was met with a stunned silence and it took quite a bit of slapping hands to get them going. Once they accepted Charlie was not here to eat them they enjoyed giving him hugs and dancing with him. Once Charlie had done his stuff it was back down for another runaround and then home to their last round of opening presents. Phew.

Food time!

The food was your standard chips and battered sausage on a stick but they love it! Tom and Ollie are so different that it felt like we were at two separate parties. Cute Pingu party at one end and the mighty Lorax party at the other! If you do not know who the Lorax is then you need to find out before Ollie gets hold of you! He is extremely passionate about the Lorax and what he stands for!! Fran had to make one alteration on her cake design though, his Lorax had to have a smile! Ollie insisted on having some of the Lorax's moustache with his piece of cake.

Party Time!

Tom and Ollie had their birthday on the Tuesday but their party was on the Friday straight after school. With so many children, they choose eight each, the simple solution seemed to be Chipmunks as the children can entertain themselves, and they provide food and a chipmunk!
It all went down a storm and the children seemed to have a blast although within 10-15 mins some of them were already hungry!! Fortunately by four o'clock they called us up to party room number 5.

Pizza, more presents and Nanna!

It wasn't long before we ordered their favourite takeaway, Dominoes Pizza, and they were playing with their new toys. Daisy and Charlie sent them some presents and Tom loved his Mr Men birthday card. He also nabbed Alex's gift as he is officially obsessed with Gormiti. It was fantastic to see Nanna and open some presents as well as blow the candles on he cake with her.
The boys, particularly Alex, really miss their Nanna and Poppy, and are so excited with the prospect of seeing them in 2012.

Tom and Ollie are six!

The boys had to wait till the end of the day to open any presents. Once daddy finally returned from work they could begin. A huge thank you for the cards and presents to everyone who sent one, the boys are incredibly excited about visiting Disney in 2012 and were very excited to receive money. The money will go into their savings for their Disney trip and they are really keen to save which is brilliant. Thanks again everyone.

Mummy and Daddy gave Ollie some Dr Seuss books, his favourite presents so far, and Tom had a Gormiti base which he was over the moon about. They were blown away by the DS games from Auntie Sam as it's been awhile since they got a game. Hugely appreciated!

Lego game equals tears!

The boys were sent so many presents from Gsy that we held a couple back. One of them was a Lego board game called 'Minotaurus' a maze game built from Lego. Building it was great fun and tear free. The game itself is fairly simple which involves trying to get your men to the centre without being killed by the minotaur. The twist is that if you roll a grey colour you can move walls to block each other and force them to take longer routes. This caused chaos and in particular pushed Tom over the edge as he threatened to leave home at least twice!

Browns Bay School Games

The boys have devised two games depending on the type of apparatus. On the smaller apparatus we play 'Last Man Standing' which requires daddy to tag everyone, last one tagged is the winner.

On the larger apparatus we play 'Flower Power' which involves everyone versus daddy. We both have a base with a flower and the object of the game is to capture the flower and return it back to your own base. Endless hours of fun i.e. daddy losing lots!

Browns Bay School and Night Lights!

Tom and Oli were invited to a sleep over birthday party where they were given headlamps to play games with. They are very cool headlamps and they have been disappearing downstairs to play in the dark, at least we are using that part of the house now! Evelyn sent the boys some army trousers which helped them with their dressing up as a secret agent game?!

The weather is very indifferent, beautiful clear skies and then an hour later there can be heavy rain! When the blue skies arrive we shoot out for a runaround at a park or in this case Browns Bay School which is 2 min drive from our house. We now have set games to play depending on the apparatus.

Daddy is finally back!

It was wonderful to see friends and family in Guernsey but obviously I missed the boys and Fran. I was surprised how hard it was and their reception was fantastic, even Tom had missed me! I felt like Father Christmas returning with a suitcase full of birthday presents and toys. Nanna sent Alex the Harry Potter DS game which he was blown away by, he really didn't expect anything like this and daddy returned with the correct present for Tom. Our future relationship depended on it and fortunately he was very happy with his Gormiti base. Phew.
Oli is going through 'I am obsessed' with Hot Wheels phase and he has loads of tracks now but the Octobattle is his favourite as well as the Octoblast which is a water one.
Tom is returning from school with soft toys, which need a wash, because he has been a good friend or attentive etc. He comes home everyday with one so he must be doing something right! The dog is called Rangi.

Smashing things!

Whilst I was away Fran gave the boys a chance to run their own coconut shy and it included plates, bowls and cups?! Just as well as was only away for 2 weeks, any longer there might have been a circus tent pitched at the back! Love Tom's concentration to throw a ball!

MOTAT - Science is Magic

Alex walked into heaven when he found out the current exhibition at the museum was magic tricks based on science. Tom and Ollie enjoyed the ride!
