Going to the zoo is always great. No matter how many times you go something new happens and they would go every week just to go in the tunnels to see the Meerkats. This visit was all about the otters as they were in top showing off form and the tigers as we actually saw the move for a change!
Alex is starting to make some 'real' friends now and after having a sleepover at Cameron's we invited him round to ours for a play. You can clearly see in the first picture that Alex is the youngest in his year! We then visited the new play area and went for a walk to see the 'popo'. Oliver insisted they had a photo with it.
We were all very excited today as a brand new play area had been opened. What's nice is that they try to vary the different types of apparatus to other parks so they had a rope swing which
Tom wouldn't get off! Kennedy Park also had a sand area with bones to find, Alex enjoyed that the most in the hope he would find some gold?!
Halloween is pretty much the same here. Dress up and collect as much sweets as possible. Tom particularly enjoys dressing up in a more scary way, there is definitely something quite disturbing. Perhaps 'Jason' and 'Freddy' could be in trouble?! I have not been sleeping as well since this photo has been taken.
We realised as we were leaving that the 'famous' beach was further down the road from Raglan so we popped in to have a look. Indeed the surf was big and there was plenty of dudes out there.
Raglan is a surfer town and it had a relaxed feel to it. We were fortunate with the weather as the rain stayed away especially as we were putting up and bringing down the tent for the first time! We were really pleased with the tent as it had lots of shade and plenty of room.
